Man and child killed in major accident in north Harris Co., sheriff says

13-year-old among 2 dead in North Freeway crash
The victims were in a vehicle on the feeder road that was broadsided by another car that ran a red light, police said.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- An adult man and a child were killed Saturday in a multi-vehicle car crash in north Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff's office.

It happened along the North Freeway on the northbound service road near Airtex Drive.

A driver ran a red light and slammed into another vehicle with six people inside, killing a 48-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy.

Five people, including two children, were taken to hospitals, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Their condition was not known Sunday morning.
