Surprise! Burglar wasn't expecting this encounter during north Harris Countybreak-in
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Detectives are hoping surveillance video of a burglar in north Harris County will lead to his identification.
Investigators say the suspect on December 22 tried to break into a home in the 3100 block of Mierianne. The homeowner told the Harris County Sheriff's Office his daughters were sleeping at the time, but one of them awoke to the sound of a door knock. Moments later, she heard someone kicking in the side door of the house and ran toward the kitchen to investigate.
The homeowner says when the suspect forced his way into the house, his daughter screamed. The two made eye contact and the suspect quickly ran out of the home. He jumped into the passenger side of a tan or gray Chevrolet Suburban and fled the scene.
The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weigs around 205 pounds. He has a tattoo on his left arm and left cheek. The suspect was wearing a gray T-shirt, white shorts and a gray baseball cap at the time of the crime.
