Man found walking on house roof in Clear Lake arrested

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man walking on a home's roof in Clear Lake was arrested this morning after police say he got into a fight with his girlfriend and tried to hang himself with a wire.

From SkyEye HD, Eyewitness News saw the man -- who appeared to be in his 20s -- pacing the roof of a home in the 300 block of Receda near Castroglen Drive. He wore a T-shirt and shorts. At one point, he began stripping off pieces of his clothing.

Houston police say it all began last night when the man and his girlfriend got into a fight and the woman's mother threw him out of the house. The man jumped up on the roof, according to authorities, and then put a wire around his neck and tried to hang himself. The man's girlfriend ran out of the home and called 911.

When police closed in around the home, the man eventually lowered himself from the roof and was taken into police custody. He was handcuffed and placed in an ambulance.

Police say likely no charges will be filed. The man is being transported to the hospital.
