VIDEO: Store clerk throws shoes at armed suspect, foils robbery

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- There's wild surveillance video out of New York, where a clerk fought back against a masked robbery suspect carrying a shotgun.

It happened at a Citgo station in Staatsburgh on Tuesday. A white male entered holding a shotgun and demanding money.

During the robbery, the clerk fought back against the suspect, who ran out of the store. While outside, the two struggled again and the suspect fired his shotgun with the bullet hitting the ground.

That suspect did get away, but left empty handed.
