TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- Someone is stealing and destroying Christmas decorations in one Northwest Harris County neighborhood.

At least 10 homes were hit over the weekend in Cypress Trails. On surveillance video taken outside one home you could see at least two people plucking decorations from yards and stuffing them inside a getaway car driven by someone else. You can watch the video by clicking the link above.

"It's Christmas. You're not supposed to be out stealing things it's kind of heartbreaking to know that people are out there doing that," said Angie Stock.

She had three Star Shower laser projectors stolen. She wonders if the thieves will be reselling them because they are in high demand currently at retail stores.

The episode has not only made her angry but also shattered her holiday spirit. She had to explain the theft to her six and 11-year-old children.

"It's scary knowing that myself and my kids were in the home sleeping and these thieves were out in my yard taking stuff. So yeah, it's fearful," said Stock.

At other homes inflatables were slashed and reindeer were wrecked.

Homeowners hope those responsible will be caught before any more damage is done and before anyone is hurt.

If you recognize the thieves you can contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers.
