Teenager's bank account overdrawn by thief
There is a warning to any parents who may have given their teenager a credit or debit card.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 17-year-old is warning others to watch out for identity theft this holiday season.

"Don't trust anybody at all," said victim Victoria Maldonado. "Not even your best friend or family members."

Maldonado just got her first after-school job, and with it, her first debit card.

She was excited, so she showed it to one of her new co-workers.

"We had the same bank company so of course we showed each other cards," she explained. "I guess she got the idea to memorize her card or take a picture when I wasn't looking. She showed me her card but I never had the idea of doing that to her."

Two weeks later, her account was overdrawn, missing nearly $600.

Somebody had made 23 different purchases of pizza and Amazon gifts.

Her mother called police, who arrested a 16 year old who were are not naming due to her age, and 18 year old Halima Abdullahi.

Abdullahi's family denied the allegation.
