PRAIRIE VIEW, TX (KTRK) -- An attorney representing Waller County and Waller County jail employees filed a new motion for summary judgement in the Sandra Bland wrongful death lawsuit.

According to the filing, attorney Larry Simmons claims Waller County jail employees are entitled to qualified immunity because their actions did not violate clearly established law.

"Screening officers observed Bland appeared angry she had been arrested, but not that she was depressed or suicidal," Simmons stated in the filing.

Simmons also stated in the filing that Waller County has a suicide prevention policy.

"The County also ensured that its screening officers were appropriately trained on these issues," Simmons said.

U.S. District Court Judge David Hittner will review the motion.
