New luxury apartments offer picturesque views of Houston traffic
Need to know what the roads are like before you head out? At SkyHouse River Oaks, that's one of the perks of living at the high rise tower.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- SkyHouse River Oaks is a brand new luxury apartment tower in the Galleria area and it gives residents a head start on the traffic.

The building boasts 360-degree views of several major freeways, including US-59, the 610 West Loop, and I-10 in the distance.

Residents say that the ability to see the traffic right outside their window is one of the reasons they chose to live here. Emily Smith just moved in, and she saves hours each week.

Apartment and Condo towers that are close to work are popular among millennials. In fact, a Nielsen survey says 62 percent indicate they prefer to live in mixed-use communities in urban centers, and a view of traffic is a big perk.

"Yes, I'm looking at 610 and 59 on the South side view, I believe it is, so I can pretty much see all of 610 North and Southbound and 59 and Westheimer, of course, during rush hour," Smith told abc13.

A one-bedroom apartment at SkyHouse River Oaks starts at around $1,500.
