Person killed by train in southwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A person has been killed by a train in southwest Houston.

The accident happened in the 5100 block of Newcastle. The victim was severed by the train and died at the scene.

No information is available about how the victim came to be on the tracks.

Houston police are investigating.
