Pasadena man accused in hit-and-run of trick-or-treater

PASADENA, TX (KTRK) -- A Pasadena man is in custody after an alleged hit and run of a trick-or-treater and his mother on Halloween night.

According to Pasadena police, Steven Sanson Smith, 29, struck and woman and her 4-year-old son and then took off. A witness saw the accident and followed Sanson to an apartment complex and called police.

Officers arrived and arrested Sanson, who they say told them he got scared after the accident, so he fled to his apartment.

The woman and child were taken to the hospital.

Smith's bail is set at $10,000.
