Water rescue in southeast Houston
Courtney Fischer reports on a water rescue in southeast Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A car with water up to its windows on Martin Luther King at 610 was the site of a water rescue this morning.

Eyewitness News' cameras were rolling when a city dump truck pulled up to the car where the people were sitting on their sunroof.

They climbed onto a ladder on the truck and were helped aboard and driven to safety.

That car remains in the water, but the flooding has receded to its tires.

The truck is now helping several other drivers trapped in the water and on a median get to higher ground.

Along 610 now, drivers are waiting to exit the freeway, but the ramps are flooded out, as well as several neighborhoods in the area.
