La Porte officer struck by car while conducting traffic stop

LA PORTE, TX -- An officer narrowly survived after an SUV crashed into the back of his cruiser during a traffic stop.
The accident happened overnight on Highway 146 at Barbour's Cut when police say the driver of a Chevy Tahoe slammed into the back of the officer's cruiser.
The officer sustained only minor injuries and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where La Porte police say he is still being evaluated.
The person driving the Tahoe was transported to Bayshore Medical Center for injuries that were not life threatening.
