Mady Kades - 2016 Woman of Distinction

Meet Mady Kades

Madeleine Kades, primarily known as Mady Kades, is a business executive, advocate of the arts, community activist, & philanthropist. Mady, an Educator for 29 years in the public school systems in 3 states, teaching a variety of grade levels including Gifted and Talented students. She was President of the Tomball Independent School District Scholarship Foundation and served on the Board of Education of Congregation Emanuel in Houston. Mady created, developed, and directed a 1, 5 and 10K Fun Run and Walk for kids and adults to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of both Houston and Galveston. She started the Space Race which became the largest fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House Charities in the nation, raising over a million dollars for RMHC locally.

Mady served as Vice President and Fundraising Chairman of Ronald McDonald House Charities, is on the board of Houston Business and Professional Women's Association, and on the board of Anne Frank Hadassah. Mady is a life long member of The National Council of Jewish Women, The Women's Fund for Health Education and Research, and the Friends of the Ronald McDonald House. Mady Co Chaired The Hands-On Family Festival celebrating the 10th Anniversary for the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, The Empire State of Mind to benefit The Dominic Walsh Dance Theatre in Houston, and The Art of Conversation benefitting City ArtWorks for 2 years in a row. Mady's passion is championing theatre, associate producing shows with her husband in London and on Broadway. Most recently associate producing Sherlock Holmes, and Dracula...the Original Play for the Alley Theatre. Mady and her husband also Chaired the 2015 Alley Theatre Ball. Mady was voted one of 2015's Most Influential Women in Houston.
