Deputy constable injured in traffic accident in east Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Harris County Precinct 6 deputy constable on a motorcycle was injured in a traffic accident this morning.

The accident happened at about 10:30am in the 7600 block of Market at Wayside. The deputy was on his way to an extra job as a police escort when he collided with a truck. The circumstances of the wreck are still being investigated.

The deputy was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, alert and conscious, according to a spokesperson, but in a lot of pain.
