Baytown baby critical after he nearly drowned in washtub

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- Baytown police say a 1-year-old boy is in critical condition after he nearly drowned in a washtub last night.

Authorities say the incident happened last night in the 200 block of W. James St. The infant was found unresponsive in a plastic storage container. It's unclear at this time how the child got there.

The family was home at the time.

The case is under investigation, but no charges are expected to be filed at this time.
