Young girl hits child with vehicle at north Harris Co. apartments

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Deputies said a young girl was behind the wheel when a child was struck by a vehicle at a north Harris County apartment complex.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the driver hit the gas instead of the brakes right before the boy was hit at Greens Crossing Boulevard near West Road.

The boy was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. We do not know the child's condition.
