Woman accused of stabbing another woman to death after text message fight

BRAZORIA, Texas (KTRK) -- A 23-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another woman to death in Brazoria County.

According to authorities, Brooke Logan Weekley stabbed 42-year-old April Reene Franco on Saturday. Witnesses told deputies the pair had been arguing earlier in the evening and were separated.

The fight reportedly continued over text messages before meeting back up in the street. That's when Weekley allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Franco.

Franco was taken to St. Lukes CHI Hospital in Lake Jackson where she died.

Right after the attack, Weekley took off with her boyfriend, but police in Bee County, Texas, caught up with her hours later.

Weekley was charged with murder and booked into the Brazoria County Jail.
