Woman shot in attempted robbery in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police said a woman was shot by men who tried to rob her in southwest Houston overnight.

Police said the woman told them that she was at an apartment complex off Ranchester around 1 a.m. Monday.

She told police several men approached her, tried to rob her and then shot her at least one time.

She was able to make it to a nearby gas station to get help.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
