One Minute Weather: Drier and hotter weather ahead

Meteorologist David Tillman has a Thursday evening weather update. (KTRK)

Heavy rain storms spared Houston Thursday but pounded the coast around Bay City again. Much drier air is moving in now and that means very little rain, and much hotter temps.

Starting Friday, high temps will make it back to the low and middle 90s. All that rain left a lot of moisture in the ground so our humidity levels will stay high through the weekend.

Rain chance will stay at or less than 20% for the next 5 days. Scattered showers and storms return in a week but they shouldn't be heavy like they were this week.
