Two-alarm house fire in The Woodlands blamed on lightning

THE WOODLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- Fire officials believe a two-alarm house fire in The Woodlands Thursday was caused by lightning.

It happened on N. Westwinds Circle around 1:30pm during storms in Montgomery County. It was officially tapped out by 3pm.

According to the Woodlands Fire Department, there were several lightning strikes in the area.

The residents were at home at the time of the fire and were able to get out. Unfortunately, a cat inside didn't make it.
