Tropical Storm Matthew forms in southern Atlantic Ocean

Meteorologist Casey Curry takes a look at the latest in the tropics.

Tropical Storm Matthew has formed in the southern Atlantic Ocean, prompting a Tropical Storm Warning for two of the French Islands.

The government of Barbados issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Barbados, Dominica, and St. Vincent, in addition to the Grenadine Islands. Meanwhile, Guadeloupe and Martinique were also the focus of a Tropical Storm Warning in the French Islands.

The storm was expected to move west on Wednesday.

Residents in Bonaire, Curacao, Aruba, and elsewhere in the Lesser Antilles were advised to stay weather aware as the storm progresses.
