TODAY IN HISTORY: 13 tornadoes strike SE Texas
On November 21, 1992, a staggering 13 tornadoes struck southeast Texas, part of a massive, nationwide outbreak of tornadic activity.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- On November 21, 1992, 13 tornadoes struck southeastern Texas. Remarkably, three of those tornadoes formed from three separate thunderstorms within relatively close proximity of each other.

The tornadic activity in our area was part of a staggering 95 tornadoes to strike across the United States in a mere 41 hours, which is now regarded among the worst tornadic outbreaks on record.

Next time you see a tornado warning, take it seriously! Even though many tornadoes occur in the springtime, southeastern Texas is known to see a spike in tornadic activity in late October and early November, too.
