Meteorologist Travis Herzog looks at what to expect in the forecast Wednesday.

If you left your car outside under the clear open sky, you'll need to give yourself extra time to defrost the windshield. Meteorologist Travis Herzog says frost is likely across much of southeast Texas this morning with temperatures flirting with the freezing mark.

After this cold start, temps will warm into the low 60s as high clouds stream back in from the southwest.

Another cold front is scheduled to blow in late Thursday, but it should come through dry. Friday looks cloudy and cool with a small chance for showers near the coast and offshore.

Our streak of dry weather could come to an end in a big way this weekend as a Pacific storm blows moisture over the cold air in place. Travis says timing this weather system is tricky, but outdoor plans from Saturday afternoon thru Sunday morning are in jeopardy of getting rained on. Temperatures are expected to moderate for much of the week before Christmas.

Travis says a wild winter weather pattern is projected to develop over Texas the weekend before Christmas, so stay tuned.
