So you think it's cold now? It's going to get colder

Sunday was cold, but the coldest part of the system over Houston is still to come.

"It will be even colder Monday morning," said ABC13 meteorologist Casey Curry. "We'll likely be hovering around freezing for most of the night up north, especially. Wind chills will be bitterly cold."

A freeze warning remains in effect for most of the area around Houston until 9 a.m. Monday morning.

Houston will likely land just under freezing Monday morning, while areas inland like College Station will see low 20's.

Winds continue to be a problem, pushing wind chills down as well, Curry said.

"By tomorrow morning, it will feel like the teens north of town. It will feel like 22 in Houston," Curry said.

By Christmas, highs return to the upper 60's.
