Quail Valley residents watching rising flood water

FORT BEND COUNTY (KTRK) -- Portions of Fort Bend County are just beginning to see flooding. In Missouri City, there are a number of streets already inundated with water.[br /][br /]Barricades are up on Glenn Lakes Lane and Ridgeview in Quail Valley. Police were added Tuesday afternoon as drivers continued to go around them.[br /][br /]"I have faith in God that this is not gonna get any further than this," said homeowner Helbert Rico, who is among many who are staying behind in their homes even though the city has issued a voluntary evacuation order for his street.[br /][Ads /][br /]Oyster creek nearby has backed up through the storm drains and is coming up the streets.[br /][br /]Some residents have stocked up on groceries in case it becomes impossible to drive into and out of their homes.[br /][br /][post ID="1357624" /][br /][br /]"We bought rice. Lots of rice over here," said homeowner Brent Reeves.[br /][br /]Quail Valley is not the only neighborhood effected. Near Sienna Plantation, off Mckeever Road, folks have also been watching the water rise. Crews put up signage on Sienna Parkway warning of the water, which is to come.[br /][br /]Officials are concerned particularly for the area between Bees Passage and Fort Bend Parkway. According to an email sent out to the public, the Sienna Plantation Residential Association says that likely won't happen until late Tuesday into Wednesday.
