NWS confirms 5th Houston-area tornado on Wednesday
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The National Weather Service has confirmed that five tornadoes touched down as severe weather moved through the Houston area on Wednesday.
The storm survey team in Chambers County said an EF-0 tornado caused damage in a rural area near Dutton Lake. Its winds reached 75 miles per hour.
The survey team in southeast Harris County identified an EF-1 tornado in Pasadena. It touched down south of Fairmont Parkway and ended not far away, and its winds reached 110 miles per hour.

The Morgans Point/Barbours Cut damage was also caused by an EF-1 tornado with peak winds reaching 105 miles per hour. It touched down east of Highway 146 (just northwest of the Barbours Cut port facility) and ended on the eastern end of Morgan's Point.
The fourth tornado was confirmed in southwest Houston. It touched down along Bissonnet Street and ended near Jessamine Street with peak winds around 90 miles per hour.

The fifth tornado, an EF-0, touched down in La Porte, just south of Highway 146. Its winds reached speeds of 80 miles per hour before it ended in southern Morgan's Point.
