Meteorologist Travis Herzog has an update on the final round of rain moving in Thursday.

Heavy thundershowers produced 2-3" of rain on Wednesday causing water to rise quickly in some bayous on the west side of Harris County. Chief Meteorologist Tim Heller says the rain is moving out and the rest of the night should be much quieter.

However, the moist tropical airmass is again producing scattered downpours. Meteorologist Travis Herzog says noisy storms are slowing some commuters down this morning. A final round of heavy storms is expected to erupt early this afternoon as temps climb toward 90.

Travis says we should begin to dry out Friday as the deep tropical moisture moves out of Texas. It will be a hot, humid weekend in Houston with only a slim chance for an isolated afternoon downpour.
