Tropics Turning Quiet Again

There are currently no named storms over the Atlantic basin. Meteorologist Travis Herzog says we've reached the time of year when the Texas hurricane season is historically over, but we will continue to keep an eye on the tropics in case any new storms form between now and the end of hurricane season in November.

The upper level winds that blow down cold front at this time of year typically steer storms away from Texas, and every time a front blows into the Gulf, the waters cool off. Hurricane season officially ends November 30th.
