How to watch the Leonid meteor shower this week

The supermoon may be over but there's still reason to keep your eyes glued to the night sky this week: the Leonid meteor shower.

The November night show is named after Leo, the constellation near its radiant point. The meteors in the shower are debris left behind by Tempel-Tuttle, the comet of origin.

Stargazers can expect 10-15 meteors per hour when the shower peaks on Thursday night. The waning bright moon might make the meteors hard to see those nights, but the shower is expected to last until Nov. 21.
