Heavy rain brings street flooding to Magnolia area

Drivers stranded in Magnolia, Kaitlin McCulley reports.

MAGNOLA, TX (KTRK) -- A severe weather system dumped more than four inches of rain per hour on Magnolia Thursday afternoon. Drivers were also left stranded on multiple roads as water continued to rise throughout the night.

Motorists were forced to turn around after nearly two feet of water brought traffic to a standstill on FM1774.

Heavy lightning and thunder were also reported in the area.

According to the Montgomery County Fire Marshall, "numerous" water rescues occurred throughout the area.
