Tropical Storm Fred continues to fizzle in the far eastern Atlantic and is expected to dissipate by the weekend. No storm in Fred's current position has ever impacted the United States.
Now that we're in September, we need to start watching activity in the eastern Pacific for possible impacts in Texas. As the jet stream starts its seasonal migration southward, it can start picking up these east Pacific storms and send their moisture toward Texas.
There's a developing tropical system in the east Pacific that could send rain towards the desert southwest, but it looks like this moisture will miss Texas.
