Flood Warning issued for San Jacinto River

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the West Fork of the San Jacinto River near US-59 Eastex Freeway. Heavy rain has fallen upstream in the watershed and stream gauges indicate that major flooding is occurring.

Residents in the affected subdivisions may not be able to leave until the river recedes. If you are stranded in your home and require emergency assistance, please call 911.

Residents in the affected neighborhoods should avoid driving or walking through high water, and be prepared to seek high ground as water rises. In addition, if any water has entered a home or business - please call 311 (or 713-837-0311) to report it.

Residents should also monitor river conditions with the Harris County Flood Warning System.
