Semi truck damages Interstate 10 after major accident

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An 18-wheeler lost control and damaged Interstate 10 Sunday afternoon after heavy rains moved through the area.

The cab of the truck hit the edge of a retaining wall, then slid, pushing the trailer of the rig off over the side of a bridge at Freeport St.

While scary-looking, most of the truck was not hanging over the edge, just the front wheels.

Crews worked to get the truck off the edge.

Temporary repairs have been made on the East Freeway in order to make the road ways safer for drivers.

For now, standard warning signs of guard rail damage are placed until permanent repairs can be made.

There was no word on any injuries.
