Students on school bus involved in wreck on Houston's south side

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Six students on an HISD have been slightly hurt in accident on the northbound lanes of Highway 288.

The accident happened just after 7:30am near Holmes Road. Officials say the bus apparently struck a car that had stopped.

According to HISD officials, about 40 students from Lockhart and MacGregor Elementary Schools were onboard at the time of the wreck.

Authorities say six students were transported to area hospitals for unknown injuries.
