Man in wheelchair dies after hit-and-run in northeast Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A deadly hit-and-run happened overnight in northeast Harris County. Deputies say multiple drivers ran over a man in a wheelchair and kept going.

It happened on Homestead near Norments around midnight.

The victim was in a motorized wheelchair and attempting to cross the street when he was run over by a car.

Witnesses say two additional cars hit the man while his body was in the street. He died at the scene.

Deputies say the first two cars that hit the man didn't stop, but the third driver remained at the scene.
