Lost load of pipes shuts down Eastex Freeway NB at North Loop

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A lost load of pipes on the Eastex Freeway northbound has all lanes shut down at the North Loop.

Officials at Houston TranStar are advising travelers to avoid the US 59 Eastex Freeway at the North Loop after a crash involving a northbound 18-wheeler and three other vehicles closed the northbound lanes of the freeway. The big rig lost its load, which has closed the northbound lanes until the load can be removed. Traffic is being diverted at the North Loop.

The northbound HOV lane is temporarily open to the public at no cost until the incident is cleared.

The closure is expected to last into the rush period.
