Jackknifed 18-wheeler causing big delays on East Freeway at Mercury

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A jackknifed 18-wheeler is causing big delays for travelers heading into Houston on the I-10 East Freeway.

The tanker truck jackknifed and hit the wall on the freeway at Mercury, just before the 610 East Loop. The crash blocked two left lanes. There is no word on any injuries.

Emergency crews are on scene, but you should expect heavy delays if you are driving through that area. There have been several minor accidents in the backup.
