Girl struck, killed by car while crossing street in NE Houston
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 6-year-old girl is dead after being struck by a car while crossing the street in northeast Houston, according to HPD.
It happened on West Little York near the North Freeway just after 8:30am.
Authorities say the child was crossing the street in front of a Burger King when she was struck by a vehicle. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The girl was with her brother at the time of the accident. It's unknown where the parents were.
The driver stayed at the scene. It doesn't appear there was excessive speed or intoxication at this time. No charges have been filed.
