Suspect in robbery, fatal shooting on the run
Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of Reggie Vernard Campbell.

AUSTIN, Texas (KTRK) -- Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in the robbery and fatal shooting of a hotel clerk in North Texas.

According to investigators, 24-year-old Reginald "Reggie" Vernard Campbell and two female accomplices committed a robbery at a hotel in Sherman that resulted in the front desk clerk being fatally shot.

Authorities later encountered Campbell in South Carolina, but they say he assaulted officers and was able to escape.

Campbell is wanted for capital murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. He is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds, and he has tattoos covering his arms, fingers and left hand.

Also known as Johnny, Campbell has ties to Columbia, South Carolina; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Yonkers and New York, New York; and Corpus Christi, Texas.

Texas Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to Campbell's arrest. Information may be reported by calling 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or submitted online at DPS.gov.
