Suspect serial looter arrested after Braeswood-area burglaries
A suspected serial looter was arrested in connection with burglaries in Braeswood.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Deputies working for Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen arrested a man suspected of looting homes that were damaged in the recent flooding.

Richard McDonald was taken into custody Friday night. He's accused of burglarizing homes in the Braeswood area.

"He's suspected of numerous burglaries throughout that area," Lt. Dale Hubert said.

Hubert said they're confident they can connect McDonald to two specific burglaries, and he's being investigated for others.

McDonald is accused of taking jewelry and other valuables. Investigators said there are also missing guns from the same neighborhood that they're still trying to track down. McDonald has not been linked to the missing firearms.

McDonald denied that he did anything wrong.

"Excuse me, sir. Were you looting?" asked Eyewitness News reporter Steven Romo.

"No!" McDonald said.
