Suspected drunk driver smashes into Houston police officer's patrol car

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer was involved in a crash with a suspected drunk driver Sunday morning.

The crash had the East Loop shut down for at least an hour overnight.

Police say the officer was pulled over on the East Loop and Market when a suspected drunk driver hit the officer's patrol car.

The officer was not inside the vehicle at the time and was not hurt.

The driver was taken into custody.
