Young archer hopes to make it to Olympic Games
Did you know one of the top female archers in the country lives in the Houston area? She's tied for first place among junior women but has her eyes set on a much bigger competition

SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- Did you know one of the top female archers in the country lives in the Houston area?

Paige Hill, of Sugarland, is tied for first place among junior women. She hopes to make it to the Olympic Games someday.

"It really depends on yourself," she said. "It's a very mental game, so you're really just competing with yourself all the time."

Paige and about 25 others are part of the JOAD archery club in Columbus, Texas.

Coach John Magara is a former Olympian who has been coaching for more than a decade.

"A kid just can't go down the street like they might be able to find a golf instructor or something like that," Magara said. "There are very few of us that have qualifications to teach."
