HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An important note for those of you who had planned to go to tomorrow's University of Houston home finale against Tulsa. The start time has moved because of the possibility of severe weather.

The game had originally been scheduled for 3pm at TDECU Stadium, but will now kick off at 11am instead.

Additionally, the kickoff times of several high school football games have been adjusted:

  • Pearland Dawson (7-4) vs. Friendswood (8-3), 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Houston's Rice Stadium MOVED TO 11AM
  • Cypress Woods (7-4) vs. Katy Taylor (8-3), 1 p.m. Saturday, Cypress' Berry Center MOVED TO 11AM
  • Houston King (10-1) vs. Fort Bend Ridge Point (11-0), 2 p.m. Saturday, Galena Park ISD Stadium MOVED TO 11AM
  • Humble Kingwood Park (7-4) vs. Richmond George Ranch (10-1), 7 p.m. Saturday, Cypress' Berry Center MOVED TO 4PM
  • The kickoff time for the Saint Thomas High School Eagles TAPPS 5A regional football playoff with Argyle Liberty Christian has been moved to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Hotze Field inside Granger Stadium to avoid threatening weather

According to Meteorologist Travis Herzog, a strong Pacific storm in the upper atmosphere will create a lot of twisting in the air, making it more likely for storms to rotate and produce severe weather, including tornadoes.
