Tough love: 'Father of the Year' sends message to son at NBA games

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- You may not know his name, but you've probably seen the viral signs that have some calling him 'father of the year.'

The unidentified man appeared at two different NBA games -- last Friday in Charlotte and Sunday at the Toyota Center -- with a message to his son.

The first sign read, "Thomas get your grades back up and next time you'll be here, love Dad."

In Houston, the sign read, "Thomas can you hear me now? Student then athlete son. In that order, love Dad."

Hopefully, Thomas learns that his grades are important and his pops is just pushing him to do better.
