Stratford remains perfect in 19-5A

HOUSTON -- Stratford and Waller begin this week tied for first place in District 19-5A after a wild weekend of football saw four high-scoring games from Houston to Waller County.

The Spartans went to 3-0 in the league Friday night with an impressive 56-31 racheting of highly-touted Brenham in their first-ever win over the Cubs in district play.

The Spartans finished with over 500 yards in offense and 360 on the ground alone to win their third straight game and they appear to be a team hitting their stride with November just a couple of weeks away.
