HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Houston Rockets have traded K.J. McDaniels and Tyler Ennis before Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

McDaniels is headed to Brooklyn and Ennis will join the Los Angeles Lakers, sources confirmed to ESPN. The Lakers are sending Marcelo Huerta to Houston, but he is expected to be released.

The move will create $3.5 million in salary cap space for the Rockets.

Sources tell ESPN that the Rockets plan to use that space to acquire players who have been brought out in their contracts.

On Wednesday, the Rockets sent Corey Brewer and a first-round pick to the Lakers for Lou Williams.

We will have more on the NBA trade deadline starting at 4pm on Eyewitness News.
