SCOTTSDALE, AZ (KTRK) -- JJ Watt mania has taken over the Super Bowl. Phoenix has become an extended vacation for Watt, with the Pro Bowl last week, and media obligations this week. But it is no vacation for JJ though, he made it clear he is still getting his workouts in, at Arizona State.

Watt says he's sick of being a Super Bowl spectator.

"Of course, every player that is here would much rather play in the game than doing what they are doing," Watt said. "That's why I am working so hard this offseason."

Watt had a historic season, recording 20.5 sacks. He became the first player in NFL history with multiple 20-sack seasons. He also scored five touchdowns.

Incredible stats, but he thinks he can do more.

"When I go back and watch the film I click over the big plays quickly. I go immediately to the bad plays to see what I did wrong. To see how I can correct it and see if I can get better. That is how you take that next step to the next level," Watt said.

So much has been made about Watt's chances of becoming the league MVP. The last defensive player to do it was Lawrence Taylor, and he did it back in 1986.

"Award shows, that's all great but at end of the day if my teammates and coaches believe in me and trust me and my family is proud and the fans enjoy it - that's all that matters," Watt said.
