HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Houston Dynamo kicked off a new season Wednesday as their first team workout today with hopes of regaining their championship form.

The team made a flurry of moves during the offseason to help build a more competitive roster.

"It does feel like a different team, it is a lot of new faces in the locker room," said Tyler Deric. "These first couple of days we are trying to learn everybody."

New head coach Wilber Cabrera likes the team they have assembled and was pleased with the training session.

"We are good. We have everything planned accordingly," said Cabrera. "We are going to try to execute it the best way possible."

Dynamo defender AJ DeLaGarza, also new to the team this year, says the goal is to get the Dynamo back to a championship contender.

"The history here shows for itself," said DeLaGarza. "What, this is the 11th or 12th year in the league and they've been to four MLS Cup finals."
