HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston Rockets guard James Harden has been named a starter for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game. He will make his fifth All-Star appearance next month.

Harden is having a MVP-caliber season while averaging nearly 29 points per game, which is almost seven points above his career average.

Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, Harden scored 38 points, eight assists, six rebounds and two blocks in the Rockets 111-92 win.

The 66th NBA All-Star Game is set for Feb. 19 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

For the first time, the league added players and media to the voting process. Fans accounted for 50 percent of the vote, while current players and media accounted for 25 percent each.
