Former Longhorn football player Ricky Williams arrested Austin

AUSTIN, Texas (KTRK) -- A former University of Texas-Austin football player was arrested in Austin.

Austin police confirm that Ricky Williams was arrested Tuesday evening in the 4000 block of Manchaca Road for two outstanding warrants: speeding and failure to maintain insurance.

He was taken to the Travis County Jail where he was later released.

Williams has been arrested in the past when he was with the New Orleans Saints after he refused to sign a traffic ticket.

Williams won the Heisman Trophy in 1998.
